Another Good Morning! - 8:30AM

Dad just called and said Mom had a really good night. She was able to sleep for almost 4 hours at one point, but was interrupted by nurses coming it to check up on her. She is very excited for that part of things to be over.
The nurses are hinting that she might get to go home today. They said she may still have to be on oxygen at home, but not for very long since she's doing so much better. They had a name for her lung condition but for the life of me I can't remember it now...it sounded like Alexis-something-rather. She has made leaps and bounds in her recovery from that, praise God. They are also monitoring her blood pressure because it is too low, but they don't seem to be alarmed by it and figure it has to do with all of the pain killers she's on. They switched her over last night to pain pills rather than through the IV so that she could have longer periods of pain-relief. The 'Push button' bolus doses were every 10 minutes and she would have to wake up WAY too often and wasn't resting well.
The nurses are going to have Dad change her dressings this morning and show him a video about caring for the surgical drain bulbs (which will hopefully come out in the next week) which tells me that they are really preparing us for leaving. The doctor hasn't come in to see her yet, so that will be the real deciding factor on whether we're outta her or not. I love the City of Hope but am ready to go home now. It's really hard to be away from Mom so much...but Ruby isn't allowed anywhere near that wing of the hospital. Chris had some major events scheduled 3-months in advance at his work that he couldn't break away from (installing computer stuff in all the police cars and a training event) and wasn't available to be here for Ruby the last few days...but Ruby and I have been talking to him on the phone several times a day which is awesome. Rhonda, bless her heart, has been SUCH a great help with Rube. She and I switch off baby-watching and Mom-watching in the day so we can each be in both places. I even left Ruby with Dad for a little bit last night while I ran over to kiss Mom goodnight. Ruby was hanging out in her playpen watching Tinkerbell and dozed off minutes after I left...and so did Dad. HAHAHAHA! I walked in the door and they were both 'sawing z's' which he said was because they are so much alike. :)
K...Dad called me to meet him for breakfast like 30 minutes ago, so I'd better get a move-on.
I'll keep you posted!
