Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that we spoke with Surgical Nurse Barbara at the City of Hope this afternoon and Mom's surgery is scheduled for 11:30am. She has to check in at the hospital at 9:30am, and have that nuclear injection at 10:30am (which will help her doctor find her lymph nodes during surgery).
I would like to ask for your prayers for Mom to be free of anxiety. She was SO calm last Friday when she went in the first time, but this rescheduling of the surgery has really been difficult for all of us to comprehend. She is fearful that she will not be able to muster up the courage to do this all over again tomorrow, and said it took everything she had to be at peace with this surgery last week.
Since the surgery was rescheduled, she is fearful and shaky. I really hope that she can have the same peace she enjoyed last Friday, through God and with all of you praying and supporting her like you have been. She made a joke last week that she has so many people around her doing things for her, that she's afraid if she said she really wanted a baby elephant, it would be on her front porch the next morning. HAHA! It's so true though, you guys have been going out of your way to share your love and support with all of us.
I would also like to ask special prayers for my Dad too. Often times I forget how difficult this is for him. He has been by her side every step of the way and also shares in her pain and suffering. I also pray that he has less anxiety and sadness in all of this.
Thank you SO MUCH for everything, and please check the blog throughout the day frequently tomorrow. I will update it as things happen, just like I did on Friday.
Love to all,
Alissa
